We may collect or use the following personal information for the purposes of improving our services and assessing what our viewers think of BooSnoo!:

  • Contact details such as your email address.

  • Any personal information you may choose to disclose to us within your compliments or complaints.

Our lawful bases for the collection and use of your data

We rely on the following lawful bases when processing your personal information for the purposes set out in this privacy notice:

  • Legitimate interests – in certain situations, we will collect or use your information because it benefits you, our organisation or someone else, without causing an undue risk of harm to anyone. All of your data protection rights may still apply, except the right to portability. Our legitimate interests are as follows:

  • BooSnoo! is a TV show for children, and we welcome feedback from viewers to enable us to improve the show and provide a more valuable experience for our viewers. To the extent any personal information about you is collected during the feedback process, such information is not used for marketing purposes, but solely to enable us to understand your views and experiences of watching the show; and

  • Consent – we may process your personal information where you have provided us with affirmative consent to do so.

How long we keep information

We will store your personal information for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was originally collected, as explained in this privacy notice, and for any other permitted or connected purpose. We do not typically envisage storing your personal information for longer than two years.

Whilst we do take appropriate technical and organisational measures to secure personal information in our possession, unfortunately the transmission of information via the internet can never be completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of personal information transmitted to us; any transmission is at your own risk.

Who we share information with

We may share your personal information with the commissioning broadcasters of BooSnoo! from time to time as well as the official distributor of BooSnoo!, solely for the purposes set out in this privacy notice.

We may also share your personal information with:

  • third-party service providers that process information on our behalf to help us fulfil our contractual obligations and operate our business (such as IT service providers);

  • to our professional advisers, including accountants and solicitors, who are usually based in the UK and provide their respective professional services to us; and

  • if our business or assets are in the future sold, transferred or merged to or with a third party, in which case the new owners may use your personal information in line with the uses set out in this privacy notice.

We may from time to time share your personal information with third parties outside of the UK or the EU (such as to Thunderbird Entertainment Group, located in Canada). To the extent that we do transfer your personal information overseas, we will strive to ensure that a similar degree of protection is afforded to such personal information by ensuring that at least one of the following safeguards is implemented:

  • transferring your personal information to a country, organisation or bloc that has, at the time of transfer, been deemed to provide an adequate level of protection for personal information;
